Dil To Pagal Hai

Dil To Pagal Hai will be screened as part of the Let’s Dance International Festival with an introduction by renowned author Dr Rachel Dwyer in conversation with director Yash Chopra. Nisha, a dancer, falls for her director, Rahul, but his love is held by new addition to the troupe, Pooja. The story follows the turbulent journey of their relationships, discovering each other’s differing attitudes to love – is it borne of friendship? Is it destined? Does it even exist?

DARBAR FESTIVAL - INDIAN VIBES SERIES

Manjari Asnare-Kelkar is the rising star of the Jaipur-Gwalior khayal style of singing.  She has been enthralling her audiences with her truly extraordinary singing voice.  This rare visit to the UK provided an opportunity to hear one of India's greatest next generation maestros.  Whether you have heard khayal (Indian classical vocals) or not this is definitely not a concert to be missed.

'Ever wanted to be somebody else?  I always wanted to be Bruce Lee - I share the same birthday as him, this must mean something, right?  I'm a visual artist.  For this show I've learnt a bit of Kung-Fu and Chinese.  Don't worry, a contemporary dancer will translate everything into English.  Expect a duet, interaction with video projections and some northern factory talk courtesy of my Dad.'

MILUN - INDIAN VIBES SERIES

Milun celebrates the common themes and unique aspects of both the classical and folk traditions of India and Ireland respectively to create new music expression that captures the haunting sound of the Indian alaap to the pounding energy of Irish reel on the sitar, tabla, bodhran, fiddle and accordian.
