Debdas is a new and contemporary adaptation of the frequently dramatized and filmed 1917 Bengali novel by Sharat Chandra Chattopdhyay. The original story is derived from the Hindu myths of the triangular tangles of romance between the divine Krishna and his loves Radha and Meera.
