Professional Classes with SJDC

Devaraj Thimmaiah, Rehearsal Director for Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company, will be leading a week of professional morning classes at Greenwich Dance.   The classes will run from  Monday 27 February to Friday 2 March at Greenwich Dance’s headquarters, The Borough Hall.   They will commence at 10.30am and finish at 12pm and will be priced at the bargain rate of £4.20 each.   

Shobana Jeyasingh’s choreography always has a connection to bharatanatyam, the classical Indian dance style in which she trained in, but her work is far from classical. These classes will be shaped by the strict complicated rhythmic patterns of bharatanatyam, Shobana’s unique movement language and the new double-bill, Classic Cut.
