Anusha Kedhar is a dancer, choreographer, scholar, and critic. A bit of a nomad, she has lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Rome, but considers London home now after living here for over 8 years.
Anusha Kedhar began her training in Bharata Natyam under the direction of Ramya Harishankar (US) in 1982. She has also learned abhinaya from Kalanidhi Narayanan (India), flamenco from Isabella Fernandez (Spain), and furthered her Bharata Natyam training with Mavin Khoo (UK). She was an artist-in-residence at University of California, Los Angeles in 2007 and a Fulbright Scholar to India in 2008. Anusha has danced with Angika, Sadhana and Atma dance companies, choreographed collaboratively with kathak dancers, jazz pianists, and taiko drummers, and is currently finishing her PhD in Critical Dance Studies. When Anusha is not watching, eating, breathing, making, practicing, or writing about dance, she is really not doing much else.
